  • From 1975 to 1985, the numbers of homicides were at a total of 40 in the California prisons and jails located locally.

  • From 1975 to 1985, the number of community homicides were at 13 total.

  • From 1978 to 1992, the members were involved in 26 homicides. Out of those 26, 3 of them were staff members.

  • In the late 1970's there were fewer than 100 members that were involved in the Aryan Brotherhood 

  • Today, there are over 20,00 members in the Aryan Brotherhood in both state and federals prisons

  • In 2002, 21of the Aryan Brotherhood leaders were charged with  the death penalty. The leaders were already facing life in prison but prosecutors thought charging them with the death penalty was the only way to stop the crimes.

  • A couple years ago, studies suggested that even though the AB was only one tenth of 1% of the inmate poplution, they were responsible for 18% of all the murders in the prison system

  • The AB gang was not only known for murders, they were known for almost all of the street activities that were going on.

  • On October 22, 1983, in the most secure prison facility, at the time, were 2 murders. One member of the AB murder a correctional officer with the help of another inmate. A couple hours later there was another murder of a different correctional officer. This murder was carried out by a different member of the AB. When asked why the second murder occured, the member replied by saying, "I didnt want him to have a higher bodycount than me." 

  • In the early 1970's, the AB signed a peace treaty with another race related gang, The Mexican Mafia. This wasnt for purity, it was more for profit than anything else.
